St. Dominic's Parish Sarihajan

The parish of St Dominic is a new parish, established on 8th August, 2009, by Rt. Rev. John Moolachira, DD. The parish is entrusted with the Order of Preachers (Dominicans) of the Province of India. It is carved out of the Holy Family Parish, Japrajan and St Thomas Parish, HIdipi. Eight villages from The Holy Family Parish and three from St Thomas Parish have been placed under the new parish. Three hundred and four families make up the parish of St. Dominic. The faithful of this belong to Adivasi and Karbi communities. A temporary church has been built at Sarihajan, along the National Highway No. 39. Almost all the villages are either attached to the High Way or close to it.
