Krist Jayanti Dhansiri

Dhansiri area was part of Diphu Parish. Knowing the importance of the area, Fr. Thomas Mangalassery then Parish Priest of Diphu with the help of some local leaders started Krist Jayanti School in the year 2000.  It was rasied to a parish in the year 2001. It was his pain sticking effort that made this parish possible. Rev. Fr. Zachary Mundekathara the first parish priest worked very hard to bring up this centre to this present stage. The parish has eight Catholic villages. The Dimasas, the Adivasis, the Nepalis, the Garos, the Kukies and the Pnars are the main population of the locality. The Hospitaller Sisters of Mercy established their convent in the year 2002 to help out the mission activities of the centre. The opening of the Catholic Mission in Dhansiri is a great blessing to the people living this part of Karbi Anglong. Since the inception of the mission, the area has been progressing in a rapidly. Today Krist Jayanti parish Dhansiri has a Catholic population of 983 comprising of 8 Catholic communities.
